Responsibilities

Job Title:      Physical Education Teacher, Elementary Part-Time

FLSA Status:                         

Department:      Elementary School

Position Summary:       Design and deliver training programs in physical literacy for athletes 11 and under

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design for training sessions that develop the foundations of physical literacy and athletic movement patterns for athletes between the ages of 7-11
  • Train movement, agility, balance, coordination and speed
  • Activities and programs should focus on fun, and formal competition should only be minimally introduced.
  • Train more complex movement patterns
  • Incorporate training flexibility, stamina and strength
  • Work with children (from all 8 sports offered at IMG Academy)

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Degree in Physical Education
  • Knowledge of Long Term Athlete Development especially in younger athletes
  • Proven ability to create fun and inspiring sessions for children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and facilitate a team of coaches to deliver program
  • A superior work ethic
  • High energy and enthusiasm with younger athletes

Preferred Skills

  • Background in physical education
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with working with the developing athlete

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 pounds
  • Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
  • Ability to move around large campus including gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
