Responsibilities

Job Title: Director of Technology

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Position Summary: 

 

Director of Technology will be responsible for leading the provisioning of technology systems and business applications that support the operation and growth of the IMG Academy based in Bradenton, Florida.

 

 

You will act as the key liaison between the business groups, vendors and the internal IT team in leading the delivery of solutions in line with business objectives, goals and strategy.

 

The role is key in ensuring successful delivery of technical solutions by performing all functions necessary, such as application strategy, sourcing of third party vendor solutions, process reengineering and project management.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • To promote the effective use and adoption of business technology through regular engagement with business stakeholders and users to understand business objectives and strategy
  • To strive to increase operational efficiency by maximizing the effectiveness of technological solutions to business operations
  • To look at the bigger picture, take a solution centric approach to issues, pain-points and events by analyzing long term impact, viability and wider implications of potential solutions
  • To develop and maintain technology strategy and roadmap for the academy
  • Analyzing and documenting systems and business processes and translating requirements into highly specified project briefs for implementation by vendors or internal IT teams
  • Drawing up specific proposals for bespoke, commercial or vendor led solutions
  • Presenting proposals and system demonstrations to business users and clients
  • Overseeing the implementation of a new system or enhancements by liaising extensively with external or internal clients, vendors and/or the development team to deliver in line with business requirements and timescales
  • To ensure stakeholder and end user satisfaction with IT solutions deployed
  • To report progress on projects to IT senior management and key stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Planning and working flexibly to a deadline
  • Keeping up to date with technical and industry developments
  • Undertaking any other tasks appropriate to this level of responsibility
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • Established experience as a Technology Leader with a proven experience of delivering complex enterprise level commercial or bespoke technology developments
  • Extensive experience in vendor and contract management
  • Strong commercial and customer service skills with a focus on business efficiency and continuous improvement (solution centric approach)
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Experience in business analysis and project management
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Influencing skills with the ability to discuss technical matters in simple terms and present compelling arguments for future improvements to directors and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional areas, rapidly grasping an understanding of the business within scope
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Vendor engagement

  • Solution design documentation
  • Test strategy, cases and scripts

Preferred Skills

  • Experience or working knowledge with education/school administration systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or sales systems
  • Experience with working with offshore developers
  • Working experience in delivering website and/or mobile app developments
  • Working knowledge in business intelligence tools such as Power BI
  • Working knowledge of the sales and marketing industry

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
