Responsibilities

Job Title:  Account Executive, Global Ambassadors

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Department:  Global Outreach        

Position Summary: The IMGA global ambassador program consists of key individuals and agencies throughout the world that assist in driving business via their personal and industry contacts to IMGA. Ambassadors consist of coaches, sports companies, camp referral websites, travel agencies and educational consultants.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Active recruitment of new Ambassadors in key international markets.
  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration and have an understanding of the sports and international student recruitment industry.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to develop and execute new market strategies
  • passionate and enthusiastic self-starter who is confident in leading the execution and successful management of projects inclusive of inside sales, customer service, event organizing, market analysis, recruitment, and the development of new business opportunities.
  • Must have sports experience – preferably playing/coaching + sales/recruiting, with the ideal candidate also possessing diverse international and cross-cultural experiences
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline, develop seasonal and annual sales forecasts based on existing and new business.
  • Primary point of contact to manage the day-to-day support of global outreach initiatives with both external IMG Ambassadors and internal IMG team members
  • Act as primary contact to ambassadors, continually fostering relationships to build trust and become a valuable resource to ambassador network.
  • Provide strategic guidance to ambassadors regarding their outreach/sales strategies in conjunction with on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address their needs.
  • Ability to take ownership of servicing responsibilities including but not limited to; individual sales/lead generation, group organization/sales, global outreach development, revenue reporting, and internal presentations
  • Motivate ambassadors by consistently reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage team to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot ambassadors’ problems as they arise; seek senior leadership input whenever appropriate.
  • Support senior leadership with new business development initiatives
  • Proactively pursue new business opportunities and present internal teams with thought-starters and ideas/concepts that drive at key brand objectives
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • 1-2+ years of client service or sales experience in the sports industry
  • Ability to work with brand ambassadors to uncover opportunities and develop strategic recommendations for leadership
  • Experience supporting new business efforts and pitches
  • Ability to manage complex programs with strong client management and organizational skills (both internally & externally)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Business, Sales or related field
  • Strong decision making, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Experience in dealing with international clientele
  • Proficiency with MS Office and database creation/management
  • Experience with budgets and expense oversight
  • Expert attention to detail
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree
  • Bi-Lingual

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
