Responsibilities

Job Title:              Associate Athletics Director/Director of Camps

FLSA Status:        Exempt

Position Summary: Responsible for strategic planning, quality assurance and growth of our camps and similar programs and events.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

  • Oversees camp programs, managing students, coaches and programs to maximize the delivery quality, communication and overall efficiency
  • Works with sport directors on camp innovations, piloting of new features, differentiation against competitors and a forward-looking approach to the youth sports market
  • Establishes appropriate KPI’s for coaches and camp directors, and manages against those metrics
  • Leads the continued alignment in delivery and customer communication of coaching staff and sales/marketing teams
  • Responsible for youth camp retention, extensions, and conversions to boarding school
  • Oversees camp leaders in some sports, and directly oversees camp delivery in other sports
  • Works with Consumer Insights staff to assess and grow camper acquisition and retention
  • Works with Sport Directors to ensure staffing quality and quantities are maintained to accommodate program growth
  • Works with Sport Directors to develop and manage camp program schedules and to assign students into appropriate groups
  • Responsible for weekly camp orientations and introductions to the Academy and the features and benefits of its various academic and athletic programs
  • Develops motivational approach to training and competitions
  • Effectively communicates with campers and their parents/guardians as a mentor and educator in their given sport
  • Aligns with the IMG Academy culture of excellence, and drives that culture across cross-functional teams
  • Ensures that proper safety is maintained
  • Manages time effectively, meeting personal and company goals and working effectively with other members of the sports’ staffs
  • Travels to off-campus events as needed
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • Track record of effective leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of youth sports worldwide and emerging trends
  • Proficiency in training and instructional techniques/methodology
  • Excellent mentoring, management, communication and supervisory skills
  • Strong commitment to student-athletes and their development
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • A superior work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive to off-campus events

 

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or sport-related major
  • Expereince in coaching and/or playing a sport at the professional and/or collegiate level
  • Bilingual

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 pounds
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
