Responsibilities

Job Title:  Leadership Coach

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Department:  Athletic and Personal Development

Position Summary:  Develops and delivers instructional curriculum for students in the area of leadership

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and document instructional curriculum for youth, secondary, post-secondary, and professional student-athletes in the areas of personal and group leadership, being a positive influence on others, and working effectively with team mates, class mates and coaches
  • Develop and coach leadership principles such as: personal accountability, ownership, respect, communication, social skills, awareness, empathy, followership, trust, body language/confidence, personal presence, initiative, decision making and many more.
  • Research new ideas for curriculum development
  • Work with teachers, coaches and other staff to tailor program content consistent with the variable needs of student-athletes in different sports, age groups, and learning levels
  • Deliver curriculum in a highly interactive, experiential, and dynamic fashion, including role-play, improv, games, and demonstrations
  • Educate IMG Academy staff (“train the trainer”) on curriculum and training methodology
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys and/or follow up conversations and provide suggestions for improvement according to feedback.
  • Ability to work with elite and professional athletes, corporate groups, and adults on leadership and communication/media training principles.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

  • The ability to teach through dynamic learning methods and/or improvisation training  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education or Coaching
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering leadership development, communication skills, self-improvement, or motivational programs
  • Dynamic, engaging personality with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
  • A superior work ethic
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

 

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Background in performing arts, improvisation and/or youth leadership
  • Experience of working with athletes and/or youth market
  • Spanish bilingual

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
