    Job Title:  Dishwasher

    FLSA Status:  Non Exempt

    Department:  Food and Beverage

    Position Summary:  Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and properly storing all dishes, flatware, utensils, and kitchenware

     

    Position Responsibilities

    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
    • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
    • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
    • Can operate dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications.
    • Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine.
    • Restocks all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
    • Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes the dish machine at the end of a shift.
    • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
    • Receive, load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies.
    • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
    • Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
    • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
    • Sweep and scrub floors
    • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager at any time.
    • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • High School Diploma / GED preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace while standing for long periods of time.
    • Complete basic food handling training and obtain any local or state mandated certification.
    • Good verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials.
    • A superior work ethic
    • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision

    Preferred Skills

    • Previous experience at a hotel or restaurant

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to scan and handle all merchandise
    • Able to think quickly on the spot to resolve guest questions
    • Ability to read labels and other product information
    • Ability to read instructions, recipes, reports and information on computer screens, and to key information on computer and RF Unit keyboards
    • Able to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds
    • Ability to place and arrange items on all shelves and racks on the sales floor
    • Ability to move merchandise with appropriate equipment (e.g., tubs, carts, flats, etc.) to and from stockroom
    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
