    Title: Associate Counsel

    FLSA Status:  Exempt

    Department: Legal


    IMG’s Legal Division is seeking an attorney with 3 - 5 years’ experience to join their team.  The Associate Counsel will focus on the sporting events business (primarily professional golf and tennis events) and the IMG Academy business. The ideal candidate has transactional experience at a top law firm and has some familiarity with sports law and/or live events.

    This position will be based at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.


    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Drafting and negotiating sponsorship, venue, appearance, employment, vendor and other agreements, primarily in connection with live sporting events
    • Providing real-time advice on business and legal issues relating to live events and preparatory boarding school related issues, including interpretation and enforcement of contracts and policies
    • Drafting and managing camp registration forms
    • Researching and staying up to date on the latest trends and issues for live events, including the participation of minors in live events
    • Efficiently managing contract-administration and document-management processes
    • Implementing and refining policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment for students at the IMG Academy
    • Working with and supporting other members of the US legal team and our International colleagues on a wide array of sports, music and entertainment events 



    • Experience at a top law firm and/or in-house practice working in the live event or education industry
    • Outstanding drafting, negotiation and organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will enable interaction with a range of personalities and styles in a fast-paced business environment (including explaining legal concepts to clients and colleagues without legal knowledge, and with limited time)
    • Solid analytic skills, creative problem-solving abilities and a practical business-oriented viewpoint
    • Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and produce quality work within deadlines
    • Upbeat temperament, dynamic personality, proactive and highly team-oriented approach to work
