    GENERAL SUMMARY:  Banquet Setup is responsible for setting up/cleaning up all meetings, meal functions and audio visual equipment.  They communicate all customer requests in a timely manner.  Create a positively memorable experience to patrons through exceptional quality and service.

    Responsibilities

    • Greets all guests and associates in a friendly manner.
    • Ensures all water, amenities, audio visual and food breaks are in the room at least 15 minutes prior to the start of meeting and refreshes during scheduled meeting intermissions.
    • Maintains a clean as you go mentality throughout the shift.
    • Organizes and cleans banquet, audio visual, linen and other storage areas.
    • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 lbs without assistance.
    • Complete final breakdown of banquet functions by cleaning and vacuuming meeting and banquet rooms, cleaning and returning equipment to its proper location. This includes storing reusable items, breaking down banquet tables, chairs, dance floor, audio visual.
    • Restock linen shelves with clean linen and transport dirty linen to specific location.
    • Ensure that all meeting and banquet doors are locked and secure upon completion of shift.
    • Freshens up all meeting rooms during meal breaks by replacing and changing linens if necessary. Refill candy jars, replace water glasses, refill water pitchers and remove garbage from meeting areas and break tables.  Completes other tasks required by their supervisor or captain.
    • Assists set up with all banquet table linens, china, silverware, glassware, bussing and beverage stations and perishable items for banquet service (i.e. bread, butter and cream)
    • Assists serving all food and beverages to guests.
    • Clears away dishes and items used in the service of the event, including linens.
    • Ensure proper storage of all items from equipment to perishable foods.
    • Completes all side work duties and ensures that banquet rooms and service areas are clean and organized, ensuring that the following shift is set up for success.
    • Answer guest inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and local area information
    • Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
    • Handles guest challenges in a friendly and courteous manner
    • Comply with all Legacy Hotel and IMG credit policies.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Legacy Hotel and IMG standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
    • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
    • Have knowledge of and assist in emergency procedures as required.
    • Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
    • Assist other departments when needed to ensure world class service to guests.
    • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic code.
    • Attend meetings as required by management.
    • Perform any other duties as requested by management.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience setting up events in a hotel or catering facility is preferred.
    • Previous experience reading and interpreting Banquet Event Orders is preferred.
    • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
    • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
    • Ability to stand for durations of shift.
    • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high pressure situations.
    • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests.
    • Must be able to work with and understand basic arithmetic functions.
    • Must have a positive attitude and have a team mindset.
    • Ability to assist when needed.
    • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
