    Job Title:                               Assistant Head of Mental Conditioning

    FLSA Status:                          Exempt

    Department:  Athletic and Personal Development

    Position Summary: Increase individual performance through mental conditioning and assist in the oversight and management of the mental conditioning department.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Assist with management and oversight of the mental conditioning department, working closely with the Head of Mental Conditioning
    • Design and implement mental conditioning curriculum with a variety of sports, ages, and levels
    • Conduct group seminars on mental conditioning topics
    • Work with individual athletes on mental conditioning topics
    • Engage in live coaching and interaction in the sport environment at practices, competitions, and around campus
    • Work with sport coaches to implement the mental conditioning curriculum and mental skills with their athletes
    • Educate coaches on mental conditioning topics
    • Teach other classes as required (e.g., Vision Training/Cognitive-Perceptual Training, Mindfulness, Building Men of Character, Empowered Female Athlete, etc.)
    • Take part in overall curriculum development with the mental conditioning team
    • Integrate and work alongside other IMG Athletic and Personal Development Divisions: Physical Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Leadership, and Sport Science
    • Work with parents to educate them on a variety of mental conditioning topics
    • Work with corporate groups or outside teams as needed
    • Participate in the promotion of mental conditioning via social media, articles, interviews, blog posts, podcasts, etc.
    • Video-Analysis and production
    • Assist with day to day operations, scheduling, and other organizational duties for the mental conditioning department
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
    • Other duties as assigned


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Minimum requirement of Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with athletes or performers
    • Knowledge of mental conditioning (sport psychology) research and best practice
    • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Passionate about helping others and a desire and passion for working with youth athletes
    • Excellent time management, adaptability, and flexibility
    • Excellent written, verbal presentation, and communication skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences
    • Ability to bring business orientation and operational excellence while focusing on student-athlete welfare and maintaining a dynamic work environment
    • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization
    • A superior work ethic

    Preferred Skills

    • Ph.D. in Sport Psychology or related field
    • AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)
    • Playing, coaching, or managing experience
    • CPR/First Aid certification
    • Bilingual

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or weights in excess of 40 pounds
    • Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
