    Job Title:  Campus Life Manager

    FLSA Status:  Exempt 

    Department: Campus Life

    Position Summary: The Campus Life Manager is responsible for the administration, supervision, programming initiatives, and student conduct for all IMG Academy student-athletes. Responsibilities include supervision of professional Residential Mentor staff, facilities and operations management, educational and social programming, conduct management, and on-call emergency response. The Campus Life Manager provides direction and leadership for the Residential Mentor staff while promoting a safe, secure, and healthy environment for student-athlete and staff development.


    Reports to Assistant Director of Campus Life.


    Staff Supervision and Program Administration


    • Oversee the supervision and evaluation of Campus Life Residential Mentors to ensure that the student-athlete and company policies, procedures and code of conduct are being maintained

    • Serve as a responsible, adult presence, providing guidance and support in the residence halls for staff and student-athletes

    • Lead the design, implementation and facilitation of training programs for temporary/part-time/full time Campus Life staff

    • Organize shift workflow to ensure operations are completed efficiently.

    • Assist with interviewing and selecting of Residential Mentor staff.

    • Supervise Senior Residential Mentor staff planning and implementation of student-athlete learning outcome programs and summer camp U12 residential life program.

    • Work collaboratively with Campus Life Management on the development and administration of the Residential Life Curriculum.

    • Manage Residential Mentor staff programming involving multicultural development, learning, character building, community development, and personal well-being.

    • Oversee Campus Life Residential Mentors to track student-athletes’ daily schedules

    • Participate and follow up on recreational, educational and cultural programs for student-athletes

    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, diligently track and meet deadlines that affect student and campus life

    • Assist in the analysis and implementation of policies and procedures ensuring that the student-athlete code of conduct is being maintained.


    • Monitor and oversee Campus Life staff ensuring student-atheletes are safe and secure in residence halls

    • Perform regular walk-a-rounds and inspections of the residence halls working with maintenance, accommodations and other departments to coordinate and direct upkeep requests

    • Participate in revising and updating the Student Handbook

    • Coordinate with campus safety and security staff to ensure the security of students and residence hall(s)

    • Assist with housing process including check in/out, early arrivals and opening/closing of residence halls

    • Work directly with the Housing Coordinator to address housing concerns or requests from parents/students

    • Oversee and coordinate the scheduling of 3 separate shifts

    • Lead, contribute and follow up on ideas/initiatives in department meetings

    • Lead and actively contribute to general planning for Academy and summer camp programs

    • Lead the design, implementation and facilitation of training programs for temporary/part-time/full time campus life staff


    • Follow up on Campus Life Residential Mentor's communication to student-athletes, parents and guardians

    • Collaborate with departments including sports, academics and health services

    • Communicate openly and regularly with Campus Life residential Mentors regarding student-athletes' development

    • Lead and communicate emergency response and crisis management plans for various situations including weather, lockdown, student illness, injury, etc

    • Assist with orientation and acclimation of student-athletes to campus life

    • Communicate and enforce appropriate disciplinary actions for violations

    • Communicate and follow-up on conduct expectations of Campus Life Residential Mentors. 

    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes

    • Other duties as assigned


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling or related area, or equivalent

    • Experience with residential life, education, sports, summer camps or secondary school

    • Must be able to manage department

    • Must be 21 years old

    • Must have a valid Florida  Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one

    • Experience in counseling, crisis response and mediation

    • Excellent guest service skills

    • Experience in a high-pressure, academic/performance setting

    • Must possess good judgment and sensitivity relating to students of various backgrounds

    • Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and with sensitivity

    • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects

    • A superior work ethic

    • Proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficient with computer and web applications


    Preferred Qualifications and Skills

    • Master’s degree in Education or Counseling

    • Bilingual

    • Experience in training, selection, supervision, programming and evaluation of staff

    • First Aid and CPR Certification

    • Experience with overseeing 50+ residents

    • Experience as collegiate student-athlete in NCAA or NAIA sport

    • Experience in boarding school setting


    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.

    • Must be able to move around residence hall and campus, including stairs

    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
