    Job Title: Golf Event Operations Part Time Staff

    FLSA Status:  Service Workers

    EEO Category: Non-Exempt

    Department:  Events/Athletics

    Position Summary:  Responsible for making event experience optimal for the student-athletes, families and guests. Position will include travel to IMG Junior Golf Tour events throughout the east coast as well as in-office/on-campus duties at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.

    Position Responsibilities



    Marketing, Outreach and Partnerships

    • Assist in implementation of social media planning and implementation

    • Assist in creating sponsor fulfillment recaps and report

    • Assist staff in execution of marketing and outreach plan in effort to maximize tournament/event participation


    Equipment & Inventory Management

    • Organize and maintain inventory of tournament equipment, supplies and gifts; ensure proper and timely delivery and on-site management of these items

    Tournament Operations & Administration

    • Participate in pre-tournament set up activities including selection of tournament hole locations, yardages and course marking

    • Prepare tournament documents including scorecards, hole locations, rules sheets and pairings

    • Set up and manage on-site tournament registration

    • Starting and scoring of groups

    • Serve as on-course rules official

    • Planning and implementation of post-round activities (educational and/or entertainment activities)

    • On-site volunteer coordination & training

    Communications & Media

    • Tournament photography

    • Update on-site social media and blog for web site

    • Produce post-round re-cap

    • Send results to media and rankings distribution list(s)


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

    • Excellent guest service skills

    • Positive attitude

    • Professional demeanor

    • Ability to work with a variety of people and personalities

    • Punctual and reliable

    • Ability to travel to off-site events (expenses covered by IMG)

    • Ability to work weekends

    • MS Office experience


    Preferred Skills

    • Experience or interest in working in events, sponsorship, sport management and/or golf tournament administration

    • Knowledge of golf and USGA Rules of Golf

    • Bilingual

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 50lbs.

    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.

    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.

    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
