  • Responsibilities

    Job Title:  Events Manager

    FLSA Status:  Exempt

    Department:  Events

    Position Summary:  Oversee business strategy and execution of events and tournaments.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute strategic and tactical event plans
    • Oversee event operations staff
    • Establish and manage overall event operations budgets
    • Develop, manage and communicate companywide reporting processes
    • Help achieve company goals by successfully planning, organizing and managing events
    • Prepare an event production timeline for all events
    • Assist with the procurement, training and management of event staff
    • Prepare venue schedules for both on and off campus events
    • Assist with marketing campaign including communication and promotions partnering with Marketing as appropriate
    • Develop and manage companywide risk and site management plans
    • Liaison between corporate sponsors, event staff and IMG Academy business partners
    • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
    • 3+ years of successful event planning and management
    • Sports background
    • Experience in event planning and management of youth sports/events
    • Ability to establish and follow budgets
    • Ability to manage and supervise people
    • Highly motivated and able to take initiative
    • Ability to work in a fast – paced, dynamic environment meeting multiple deadlines
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to learn existing processes and improve them by setting up new procedures
    • Ability to travel 25% of the time
    • Exceptionally detailed in work
    • Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Staff leadership experience
    • Business development experience

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
    • Ability to perform the physical aspects of event set up, tear down and execution.
    • Must be able to travel frequently and with limited lead time
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
