    Job Title:  Executive Chef    

    FLSA Status:  Exempt

    Department:  F&B

    Position Summary:  Plan and manage food preparation and distribution.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Plan menus and food utilization based on anticipated number of guests, nutritional value, palatability, popularity and costs.
    • Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
    • Implements and maintains correct procedures for food receiving, storage, handling, preparation and distribution
    • Establish presentation technique and quality standards
    • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
    • Maintain food inventory control systems including monitoring incoming supplies for quality and quantity, note food surpluses and insure stock rotation.
    • Plan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of kitchens and dining areas.
    • Advise management of staff and scheduling requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
    • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
    • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
    • Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
    • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
    • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
    • Other duties as assigned


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Possess a bachelor's degree or related culinary degree
    • Demonstrated experience cooking, menu development, and food cost control
    • Ability to develop, train and manage a culinary team
    • ServSafe certification
    • Demonstrated experience in cooking for large groups
    • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects
    • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
    • A superior work ethic
    • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    • CPR/First Aid Certificate
    • Collegiate or campus dining expereince
    • Bilingual

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
    • Should be able to handle indoor/outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of times
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
