    Responsibilities

    Job Title:  Human Resources Generalist & EEO Coordinator

    FLSA Status:  Nonexempt

    Position Summary:  The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting the needs of the department and overall business. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

     

    Position Responsibilities

    • Assists with maintenance of the affirmative action program; reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
    • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (review applications, interviews).
    • Maintains employee personnel files.
    • Oversees onboarding and background process
    • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
    • Partners with employees and HR management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
    • Assists with maintenance and coordination of employee recognition programs.
    • Interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional and technical job openings.
    • Review applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
    • Conducts new-hire orientation.
    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
    • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
    • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.
    • Assists with employee relations counseling and documentation
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
    • Assists with maintenance of company organization charts and the employee directory.
    • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
    • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or HR certification
    • Knowledge or interest in applicable laws and regulations related to Human Resources
    • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization
    • Administrative experience in a Human Resources/Personnel office
    • Proficient with MS Office and data entry with Excel
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills in person and via phone and email
    • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to respond with urgency to employee requests
    • Ability to maintain a high level of conduct and ethics in all employee and guest relations
    • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization
    • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and be team-oriented

     Required Skills:

    • Knowledge and experience of affirmative action plans and EEO reporting

    Preferred Skills

    • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
    • HR experience working in an environment with a combination of exempt/non-exempt/seasonal employees
    • Experience with HRIS, Workday, iCims or related HR and payroll software

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • The role will occasionally require extended and weekend hours during peak seasons
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for the duration of the shift
    • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
    • Must be able to move around campus that includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
