    Job Title:  Hotel Sales Representative

    FLSA Status:

    Department: Outreach 

    Position Summary: Responsible for working with the Group & Team Sales Manager, Sport Departments, Outreach Department, Legacy Hotel General Manager and customers to coordinate transient sales efforts to sell hotel rooms for Legacy Hotel and other accommodations on campus. Duties include outbound sales, account management, sales operational support and project based work for the achievement of revenue generation, and long-term goals in line with IMG Performance/Academy's vision and values. This includes the generation of new business, retention of existing business and developing new product service offerings as campus and facilities grow. This individual will work primarily with the outreach, marketing, sports and business development departments.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Achieve sales targets as set by the Director of Outreach
    • Create and maintain accurate transient business pipeline for a minimum of the next 24 months
    • Facilitate internal communication between Group & Team Sales Manager, Outreach Director, Hotel General Manager, Sport Directors and customers by streamlining processes and working collectively to reach sales goals
    • Develop sales action plans, forecasts and evaluates trends to modify strategies that will increase revenues.
    • Responsible for the communication of financial status in collaboration with the Group & Team Sales Manager to the customer, from booking date through reservation
    • Develop and implement procedures to ensure transient business sales and reconciliation processes are successfully achieved 
    • Expertise in sales software (Microsoft CRM) and hotel management system (OPERA); ability to use software to its maximum capability including but not limited to producing reports, data entry, data integrity and data qualification
    • Complete any projects assigned by the Group & Team Sales Manager and Outreach Director including weekly and monthly reports, data entry, prospect mailings, generation of sales tools, and other outreach functions
    • Cultivates relationships with local and regional groups/companies to create business travel or local negotiated accounts for the hotel
    • Book individual reservations for the hotel from IMGA customers to include, but not limited to, student parents, adult camp participants, event attendees and professional/collegiate athletes. 
    • Generate awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows, networking groups, etc.
    • Under direction from Group & Team Sales Manager, negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while attaining customer needs.
    • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas team and program outreach and execution
    • Demonstrate and deliver positive communication and knowledge of IMG Academy and its programs
    • Maintain individual transient sales reporting (maintain and track revenue, pipelines, contract status, deposit collection etc.)  
    • Provide expertise and back up to the sport outreach team, offering a seamless transition to the outreach process whenever possible
    • Ensure all customer logistical details are prepared and finalized prior to customer’s arrival 
    • Assist in the operational delivery of hosting customers at the hotel and on campus
    • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
    • Other duties as assigned


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability

    • Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management, Business, Hospitality or related field or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably hotel sales experience
    • Experience in dealing with vendors and operators in the travel industry 
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Experience with cold calling, following up on leads and generating pipelines
    • Strong decision making, negotiation and problem solving skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office and database creation/management
    • Experience with budgets and expense oversight
    • Familiar with legal documents
    • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
    • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    • Master's degree in sports management, business or marketing
    • Experience in dealing with international clientele
    • Bilingual

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs. 
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc. 
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
