    Job Title:  Nutrition Coach

    FLSA Status:  Exempt

    Department:  Athletic & Personal Development

    Position Summary:  To provide world class nutrition services in order to help IMG athletes and clients maximize performance through nutrition.


    Position Responsibilities

    • Design nutrition plans to safely meet clients’ goals.
    • Assist in delivering the strategy for supplementation at IMG Academy.
    • Promote the value of nutrition for performance to sports, coaches and athletes on campus.
    • Deliver Athletic and Personal Development Classes in Nutrition.
    • Ability to tailor message accordingly to a broad client base ranging from youth to elite athletes across a range of sports, cultures, and countries.
    • Deliver 1:1 and group sessions for full-time student-athletes, camp athletes, and professional athletes, as indicated.
    • Ensure Nutrition services at IMG Academy are based on the latest, evidence-based practices in the field.
    • As indicated, assist with the Food and Beverage division to provide nutritious, cost-effective menus that support performance.
    • Work with Physical Conditioning, Gatorade Sports Science Institute, and Athletic Training departments to optimize performance and recovery.


    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Registered Dietitian (RD)
    • State Licensure in FL (LD) or State Licensure eligibility within 30 days of hire.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Sports Nutrition.
    • Ability to comply with legislation in Florida in relation to Nutrition services and advice.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and motivational skills.
    • Understanding of latest research in the field of nutrition.
    •  Experience building menu & catering needs for athletes to maximize athletic performance.
    • Ability to take accurate measurements, including body weight and height.
    • Experience with nutrient analysis software.
    • Read/write/speak and understand English.
    • Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nutrition care.
    • Must have good math skills.
    • Knowledge and ability to use PC and related software.
    • Ability to understand rules of various sports governing bodies regarding restricted substances and supplements.
    • Ability to deliver current knowledge in realistic and practical terms.
    • Perceived credibility as a subject matter expert in the field of Nutrition.
    • Meet professional standards when working with clients, department staff, interns, and other professional. This includes the ability to work with strong personalities.
    • Participate in a team environment to ensure best practices of nutrition service.
    • Able to troubleshoot situations and deal with any unique situations that may arise. 
    • Proactive personality who is a role model for nutrition on IMG Academy campus.

    Preferred Skills

    • Master of Science in nutrition or exercise related field.
    • CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics)
    • Multi-lingual

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays, is required.
