    Responsibilities

    Job Title: Technical Director, Baseball

    FLSA Status:  Exempt

    Department:  Athletics

    Position Summary:  Responsible for the technical and operational aspects of the IMGA Baseball program, including delivery of current programs, oversight of the coaching staff, building out new and existing programs, and achieving and sustaining best practices.

     

    Position Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, monitor, and execute scalable Baseball training programs for student athletes in order to achieve performance progress
    • Foster programs that include: program development, periodization, operational excellence in delivery, coaching education, innovative training, and best practices
    • Create new delivery options including build-out and growth of specific training programs at the youth, collegiate and professional levels
    • Recruit, motivate and retain coaches creating an environment with resources, development and leadership who serve as an advocate for the Baseball coaches and program
    • Proactively review the program operations to anticipate changes, including staff, rosters, schedules, etc.
    • Be a visible leader, supporting coaches and programs, providing encouragement and accountability in program development, coaching and business initiatives
    • Effectively communicate with staff, parents, student athletes, faculty, college and professional coaches, professional athletes and guests
    • Demonstrate integrity and character in understanding and abiding by the rules and policies of IMG and all governing bodies
    • Work with Sales, Marketing and PR staffs to promote and sell programs
    • Work with Baseball leadership to grow professional and international team business, including developing and maintaining relationships to identify and attract top talent
    • Assist in the recruiting and college placement of the student athlete
    • Travels to games and other events
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sports Management, Education or related field or related experience
    • Experience coaching in the professional, collegiate, prep, or high school environment
    • Management experience including, coaching, development, interviewing, etc.
    • “A” Coaching certification or the equivalent
    • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences
    • Ability and desire to work collaboratively in a leadership role across campus
    • Ability to bring business orientation and operational excellence while focusing on student-athlete welfare and maintaining a dynamic work environment
    • Ability to travel
    • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

     

    Preferred Skills

    • CPR Certification
    • Valid driver’s license with ability to drive for tournaments, games, travel
    • Bilingual

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
    • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
    • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
